1. Data we collect
- DJ Name — used as your username to access DJ Hub and to identify your account.
- Email Address — used for account verification, essential notifications and password resets.
- Password — stored only in hashed form for authentication.
- IP Address — recorded to help detect and prevent unauthorised access, and to protect the service.
- Activity Log — records login attempts and relevant actions to diagnose issues and protect against abuse; visible to authorised administrators only.
2. How we use your data
We process personal data solely to operate and secure DJ Hub, including:
- Providing and administering your account and access to DJ Hub tools.
- Sending essential, service-related emails (e.g., account confirmations, password resets, and system responses).
- Protecting the platform, including detecting and blocking unauthorised access.
- Troubleshooting, support and service quality improvement.
We do not send marketing or promotional emails.
3. Our lawful bases for processing
- Contract — processing is necessary to create and manage your DJ Hub account and to deliver the paid service you request.
- Legitimate Interests — we process IP addresses and activity logs to maintain security, prevent abuse and ensure reliable operation. We balance these interests against your rights and minimise data accordingly.
4. Retention
- User account data (DJ Name, Email, Password): deleted when your account is no longer required or upon verified request.
- Activity logs: retained for a limited period (typically 6–12 months) for security and diagnostics, then deleted or anonymised.
- Backups: full system backups are kept on a rolling short cycle (few days, usually three copies) and website backups are rotated weekly.
5. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, including:
- Hosting on a dedicated Linux/Apache server in a non-public area with restricted administrator access.
- HTTPS/SSL for encrypted transport.
- Passwords stored using industry-standard hashing and salting.
- Regular backups stored on secure Linux hosts and rotated frequently.
- Access controls and administrative safeguards for activity log visibility.
6. Sharing & data location
We do not sell personal data. We only share data where necessary to operate DJ Hub or where required by law. Data is stored on secure servers under our control. Where feasible, we keep data and backups within the UK or EEA. If a transfer outside the UK/EEA is required, we will implement appropriate safeguards.
Incident response
If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will assess and, where required, notify affected users and the relevant supervisory authority without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to your personal data, request correction or deletion, and in some cases restrict or object to processing.
To make a request, contact us at enquiries@dj-hub.co.uk. We will respond within one month. For security, we may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
You can also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.
