A Life in Music: From Pirate Radio to VDub Radio

Early Influences and Musical Passion
With a history stretching from the late 1950s to the present day, my journey in music began at an early age. Inspired by the offshore pirate radio stations of the 1960s, I witnessed first hand how Britain shaped the global landscape of popular music. This love for music naturally evolved into a passion for performing, both on air and at live functions.

Eclectic Playlists and DJ Experience
My playlists are carefully curated, embracing an eclectic mix that leans towards 60s MOD and northern soul, but also features gems from Soul, R&B, Rock, Reggae, Ska, and beyond. As much vinyl as possible finds its way onto my sets, ensuring authenticity and nostalgia. I have always chosen tunes freely, with the sole aim of sparking warm memories for listeners.
Starting out in the 1970s as a mobile and club DJ, I played at a wide variety of events moving from vinyl to CD, then back to vinyl enhanced by digital technology. My experience covers every entertainment need, from holiday camps and family functions even groovy funerals. Eventually, I settled into a rhythm that combines vinyl for nostalgic festivals with broadcasting to a global audience.

The VW Community and Broadcasting Evolution
A spontaneous decision to buy a VW T5 allowed me to transport my show and discover the vibrant VW community, particularly through Club Night parties for south coast VW clubs. This experience deepened my connection, eventually leading me to acquire a dedicated vintage 1972 VW Bay Camper.
After years of broadcasting on soul internet stations, I was drawn to VDubRadio by its dynamic team. Reaching out to them led to an immediate opportunity to present a show on *Wednesday nights, which has been an immensely fulfilling experience. For me, living the dream means being part of a station with both pedigree and ambition, which I am proud to share with others. I invite everyone not just to tune in, but to make VDubRadio their home page and join us every day.

*Having been with VDub Radio recording shows for my Wednesday night sho The Vinyl Towers, I wanted to go live on the air to be closer to you the listeners. Thankfully this has now happened with a move to a show every Saturday mornings from 9am to 11am, yes you can now catch me live spinning Vinyl and able to respond to requests and anything else we can discover together in the VDub Radio chat, so come on join in the Buzzz lets start the party early Saturday. It'll be so much fun.

Bridging Generations and Creating Connections
Across the decades, musical tastes have shifted and cycled, but the magic of the right song meeting the right moment endures. Whether through the crackle of a rare 45 or the pulse of a modern remix, every track I select aims to bring joy, evoke nostalgia, or simply get listeners moving. My mission is to unite generations and genres, crafting a soundtrack that resonates with anyone who values the unpredictable, creative journey of popular music. Every set is an invitation: to explore, to remember, and above all, to celebrate the songs that make life shine a little brighter.

Join the chat make Saturday Morning Buzzzzzz.
